INGREDIENTS

  • 500g (1.1 lbs) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 250g (0.55 lbs) broccoli florets
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and red chili flakes (for garnish)

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Marinate for 15 minutes.

    2. Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

    3. Stir-Fry: Heat oil in a wok or large pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.

    4. Sauté Aromatics and Vegetables: In the same pan, add the onions and garlic. Sauté until softened and fragrant. Add the blanched broccoli and stir-fry for another minute.

    5. Combine and Serve: Return the beef to the pan. Pour in any remaining marinade and cook until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with sesame seeds and red chili flakes. Serve hot with steamed rice.
