    • 1 kg purple yam (ube), peeled and grated or mashed

    • 1 can (14 oz) condensed milk

    • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

    • 1/2 cup butter

    • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 tsp ube flavoring (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cook the Ube: In a large pot, combine the grated or mashed ube, condensed milk, evaporated milk, butter, and sugar.
  2. Simmer: Cook over low heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Continue to simmer for 45-60 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and becomes a smooth, jam-like consistency.
  3. Add Flavoring: Stir in the ube flavoring (optional) for a more intense ube taste.
  4. Cool and Serve: Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer to a serving dish or individual containers. Serve warm or chilled.
